Mortgage- refinancing scam call

Not sure if this is a VoIP number but it was unlikely that it was spoofed as it responded to texts. This person attempted to use the USPS check cashing scam.

Havy Indian Accent, said he was from Rogers went on about how I can upgrade my internet services for free, he wanted me to varify my Postal Code, after I did that he said he will put me on hold for a few minutes and someone else will have to confirm more iformation with me but after waiting for maybe 10 seconds I hung up (they didn't put any music on while I was waiting which made me suspect the whole deal). I later called Rogers to see if they can tell me if that call was from Rogers or not and they said that the last time it shows that Rogers called to offer me an upgrade was a month earlier so I don't know who that Indian dude was or what he was up to..

Caller left a message saying the Salvation Army would be picking up on Feb. 24 and every two weeks thereafter.asking for clothing, gently used furniture, media equipment, and books.  Called number back and it was a private number.  There was a crying baby in the background and the woman didn't know anything about Salvation Army picking up..me thinks this is a scam!
