Making a payment agreement with 'em over the telephone would be considered a verbal agreement. Let 'em recognise that you're gonna pay the firm that you've a debt with & not them. Be company in informing 'em this. make payments to the firm these people will accept them. You only have a contract with the firm you owe & not a 3rd party collection agency.
