I was being scammed by this number

Received a similar letter and check-if was pretty fetchy-i called the number no-answer- had the police look at it and said it's was a scam-mine said that it was an award claim notification and that i had won $80- received a check for $987 and the rest to be claimed i had to take it to my tax agent and it would sent to them to make sure the proper taxes were taken out plus a processing fee. JUST SHRED IT!

ring stating these people are with Chase & a employee needed to setup direct deposit & need account info. bogus ring as I dont use direct deposit & employees weren't setting up account.

we got a written msg with somebody else at our telephone no. stating this is Tsao Chin phoning about our account with Bank of America. we cannot find that no. on the Bank of America site. we did not respond was this a scam?
