Automated spam call originated from this number for credit cards

The man who called claimed to be working on an energy efficiency program with the Gas and Water Company and that they'd be in our area in the next few days and he had a few questions to ask me. His questions were about my windows and exterior paint. He then ended the call abruptly with, 'Thanks for the call.' The Gas Company could not ocnfirm that the call was legitimate. I do not have an account with the City for water. Not sure what windows and paint have to do with either company.

JOB sell

got several rings with 516-888-8992 & no msgs. telephone number was often engaged soon as attempting to ring back. Who was calling?

Silence call

If you donate to any charity during the calendar year, especially if it is over the phone, you can go on a list which they then sell to other companies/calling agencies. Also, I spoke with Verizon when these jerks called me for the 10th time and they recommended NOT answering and NOT pressing 1 as it verifies your number. What I would do is report these folks to the FCC as often as possible.
