I got this number as a return of newnum.us/v216aj. They say I have won year end close out. Claim by midnight. Is this a Scam?

getting prank text messages.    for example:    busted!    lol my bad.    you owe your sister over 800 dollars for YOUR phone bill using her phone.    Id get on that if i were you.

My wife received a text from this number. The texter refused to identify who he was or how he obtained the number, other than to say his name was "John". He wrote "Hey" "My name is john how are you doing today" "are you a girl"
