Scam call about car warranty

rang 3 times, never ever ended up leaving a msg // we did not reply cos we did not recognise who this was.

I received a text message from this number.    This guy offered to buy an item I was selling on Craigslist.    I was selling for $300 and he sent me a cashiers check for $2500.    He wants me to keep the 300 and an extra 100 and wire him the remaining $2100.    This guy is a piece of $h!t and I hope nobody falls for his scam.

had a call, no msg, no results on the search engine. sounds to be somewhere in NJ, by the exchange no.s, however who knows?

They never say anything, and the call hangs up.    When you call back, it only gives you the option to be placed on the do not call list, there are no people who come to the line.
