They have called randomly over the last 2 weeks for a total of about 10 times. Each time there is a long pause and then a hang up.

The same thing just happened to me. Some lady named Kim Jones called my dad's office reporting something from 2007 about a payday loan. Total scam. Do not pay them a dime.
