A live person answered and thanked me for calling them back. I told them to take me off their calling. She said "thank you" and I hung up. Number is now blocked.

You are so correct in that the Do Not Call registry is a JOKE-- but we, the tax payers are paying them to do nothing. I also have complained to our state Attorney Gen. office--they too are a JOKE! 19 calls in 3 weeks from unwanted or un-solicited numbers-- I never answer either. Wish there was someway I could answer and then give them the White House number !
