I received a call from this number and do not know anyone in the Joplin area.

This number called and a male who did not speak english (Indian, I believe) reported to be from the American Government Grants Department from Washington, DC, stated his name was Peter Michael and that I would be receiving a check in the mail Monday for paying all my taxes and not having a criminal record. I immediately told this man he is wasting his time (also that it was 10:00 at night) and that I work for a local police department and that he would not be receiving any information from me.

Caller left voice-mail claiming to be from the U.S. Census with a reminder to participate or someone will come knocking to record my existence in person.
