called supposedly saying the government was giving me 7000 but i had to send 225. when i asked where they were located they said washington but when i look it up it says kentucky. 'i was chosen along wih 50,000 people' ha! scam or what?

Number has called me several times.  I called back (1) time but no answer.   I was on the line for 15 seconds.  Have received (2) additional calls from this same number while typing this note.  I learned from the internet that this prefix 250 is a known prefix for scam calls.
