Got 4 phone calls in a row from this number. When I called it back, it said the number was no longer in service

has actually been identified as source of unwanted calls and an issue has been submitted with the FCC

When people I don't know (I have caller I'D like most people these days) keep calling me I switch them over to my FAX line and let my machine talk to their machine. Most likely it is a caller machine doing all the calling. It can also tell if your answering machine is answering your calls. I just put them on my FAX because it makes me feel good.
