got random text messages from this number saying "how r u". I don't know this person, and my friends don't text like that (my friends would say, "how are you?"). I think it's some spam/phising issue. I forwarded it to spam abuse and blocked the number.

this company sends you something in the mail when you move in saying that you have a welcome package worth $400 and that this is your 2nd and final notice. When you call them the say they want to come to your house and talk to you about the neighborhood. Basically it is a guy that sells water filter systems. The totally scam you. Don't reply back to them. the will keep sending you things in the mail

yup your absolutely right, its a scam for unsuspecting people who think this is legitimate. Its also a mobile number with no voice mail and the carrier is ATT. So spread the word to all your friends not to fall into this BS scam

There is a recorded message about helping you save money on your electric bill. It informs you to stay on the line. A man comes on the line asking if he can help but makes a point not to say much. He then asks me if I want to save money or not. This is not an accredited company at all. I hung up immediately on my cell phone and called the number on my house number. The recording is from MagicJack and it informs me that the number is no longer in use.
