Got a vm from this phone number last night saying they had documents with my name and social and needed to talk to me to verify the information.. if I did not return the call in 24 to 48 hours legal decisions will be made without my input? Is this a scam?

Claimed to be represent Marriott hotel, asked a single question and they hung up.

i have been having problems with my cell phone service and spent 3 days trying to correct the problem and got a new number and this gentleman has been calling me asking for another person whom does not exist i feel this person may have stolen my old phone number to begin with and i dont know this person
